ÆON Trio – living room concert

Living room concert (Benoordenhout, The Hague)

ÆON Trio lines up cellist Maya Friedman from Russia, pianist Atzko Kohashi from Japan and bassist Frans van der Hoeven from the Netherlands. Maya’s roots lie in classical music, whereas those of Atzko and Frans in jazz. Despite the differences in their nationalities, cultures and musical backgrounds, they found common ground in their music. ÆON Trio’s music reflects the harmony and dissonance found in the traditions of classic and jazz. East and West are connected via our common voice – improvisation.
Their first album ‘Elegy’ has appeared this spring. The album contains the Trio’s own compositions as well as pieces of Ornette Coleman, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Carla Bley and Fauré.
