LICKS & BRAINS & ERIC VLOEIMANS

Dutch best known trumpet player Eric Vloeimans has invited big band Licks & Brains to play a concert with splashing new versions of his own music. The impressive repertoire of Licks & Brains will not be left behind of course. The 18 piece ensemble of musicians produces an attractive mixture of danceable jazz in the blender with quite some soul, funk and dance: this big band completely stands with its legs in 2018 and worked together with Benjamin Herman, Joseph Bowie and Kraak & Smaak before.

Vloeimans compositions are put into a swinging big band jacket. The results are a whole new energy and atmosphere around his music. But also the Licks & Brains men are very enthousiastic about this fusion: “With Vloeimans’ compositions we explore news musical paths where other big bands don’t dare to go”.
