Rogier Telderman’s TRIPTYCH
Sun 22 October 2017 - 14:30
Pianist and composer Rogier Telderman is considered to be one of the most important faces of the new generation of the European (jazz-) musicians. Dutch program makers have selected him in 2016 as the most promising jazz musician of Holland. “Rogier fuses influences from the classic music, minimalistic music, rock & jazz to the energetic, stylish and lyrical music. He takes hold of public from the very first notes and sweeps it along telling inspiring musical stories.” British magazine KindOfjazz called his debut album ‘Contours’ one of the best albums of 2015.
Telderman received a free composition task from November Music festival. For this he put together the ensemble ‘TRIPTYCH’, named in reference to the great work of the famous painter Hieronymus Bosch. Telderman brought together some of the Europe’s best wind instruments performers like the Turkish trombonist Efe Erdem, German flutist Mark Alban Lotz and Romanian clarinet player Alex Simu. A chamber music set where lageness takes a prominent place and the traditional musical casts are challenged. The TRIPTYCH creates its own musical landscapes with the influences of the ambient, contemporary classic, improve and minimalistic music and steps beyond the traditional boundaries of the chamber music.
Line up: Efe Erdem – trombone, Alex Simu – clarinets, Mark Alban Lotz – flutes, Rogier Telderman – piano, compositions.
